Mazeh et al developed a nomogram which can be used during surgery to determine if another hyperfunctioning parathyroid gland is present. This can be used in conjunction with the change in serum parathyroid hormone levels to determine if surgery needs to be continued. The authors are from the University of Wisconsin.
