Rule et al developed a series of equations for estimating the glomerular filtration rate for a patient with chronic kidney disease. One was a composite score that combined the results of separate GFR estimates based on serum creatinine and cystatin C. The authors are from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
